Abstract

The road sealant is made from, by weight, 60-70 parts of No. 90 matrix asphalt, 5-10 parts of styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer, 1-3 parts of elemental sulfur, 8-12 parts of rubber powder, 3-8 parts of softening oil, 3-8 parts of 1200-mesh bentonite, and 3-8parts of 800-mesh calcium carbonate powder. The road sealant provided herein has good resistance to low temperature and good mobility and most importantly, melts easily. The combining process in theproduction method enables the rubber powder to fully and completely melt with asphalt, so that the high temperature resistance of the rubber powder is given to full play. The product processed via thepreparation method has fine texture and is free of particles; the constructive melting temperature is about 10-15 DEG C lower than that of a product prepared without shearing.
