The flash welding process comprises the following steps of: step one. fixing the chain ring; step two. carrying out flash preheating; step three. continuously flashing; step four. obtaining a butt joint; step five. carrying out current-on upsetting; and step six. carrying out pressure maintaining, setting the upsetting quantity to be 32-48mm, ensuring the plastic deformation of the joint, and carrying out pressure maintaining on the electrodes and an upsetting oil cylinder for 75-120s, so that the joint has sufficient deformation resistance to prevent the cracking of a welded joint caused by the annular rebounding. The welding process is simple and easy to operate, ensures the temperature uniformity during the heating of the mooring chain, effectively avoids the occurrence of conditions such as impervious welding, topping and cracking in a welding process, enables the large-sized mooring chain to have a relatively good mechanical property and is suitable for the large-sized mooring chain with the diameter of 147mm-230mm.
