The method for the predictive maintenance of the devices comprises the steps of obtainingat least one physical measured value set representing the working conditions of a device, wherein the at least one physical measured value set respectively comprises a plurality of physical measuredvalues which are acquired in a predetermined time period and represent the corresponding working conditions; calculating a device capability index on the basis of the at least one physical measured value set, wherein the device capability index indicates whether the device needs maintenance or not; and determining whether the device needs maintenance or not on the basis of the device capability index.
