Embodiment Construction

[0047] figure 1 An example of an apparatus 10 for predicting the remaining lifetime of an electrical system is shown. The device 10 includes an input unit 20 , a processing unit 30 and an output unit 40 . The input unit 20 is configured to provide at least one sensor data from at least one sensor to the processing unit 30 . The at least one sensor data includes a measurement of at least one physical parameter of at least one component of the electrical system. Each sensor data is associated with a corresponding sensor and relates to a measurement of a physical parameter of a corresponding component of the electrical system. Each sensor data also extends over multiple time windows and is associated with multiple data classes such that sensor data at a particular time window has a value falling into one of the data classes. For each sensor data, the processing unit 30 is configured to assign the sensor data at each time window into the corresponding data class based on the se...

Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus for prediction of the residual lifetime of an electrical system. The apparatus has an input unit, a processing unit, and an output unit. The input unit isconfigured to provide at least one sensor data from at least one sensor to the processing unit. The at least one the sensor data comprises the measurement of at least one physical parameter of at least one component of an electrical system. Each sensor data is associated with a corresponding sensor and relates to the measurement of one physical parameter of a corresponding component of the electrical system. Each sensor data extends over a plurality of time windows and is assigned to a certain data class, such that sensor data at a particular time window has a value that falls into one of thedata classes. The processing unit is configured to determine a predicted lifetime for the component through application of an aging model from at least one aging model to the corresponding load spectrum for each physical parameter of a component. The processing unit is configured to determine a predicted lifetime for each component of the at least one component.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an apparatus for predicting the remaining life of an electrical system, a system for predicting the remaining life of an electrical system, and a method for predicting the remaining life of an electrical system. Background technique [0002] Many work environments, such as power plants, pose specific risks to the health and safety of employees. For these environments, different kinds of safety-related equipment exist in order to prevent or mitigate situations in which human life is endangered. Naturally, such equipment must be maintained carefully and regularly. However, in many cases this results in costly scheduling downtime. For example, electrical systems (eg, switchgear) are expected to operate reliably over decades, while they are subject to variable thermo-mechanical and dielectric loads. This results in continuous aging according to lifetime load history, resulting in wide variation in the actual service time...
