The optical remote sensing detection performance evaluation index is obtained by comprehensively considering contrast-limited probability and resolution-limited probability of a target and a background; wherein the contrast-limited probabilityis obtained on the basis of considering a contrast factor of a minimum distinguishable contrast and a target background; the resolution-limited probability is obtained by considering a Johnson criterion and a target size factor. A contrast-limited probability model specifically comprises the following influence factors: noise equivalent contrast, contrast of a target and a background, atmospherictransmission, a detection system and a platform, a display system and human eyes.
