Abstract

The invention discloses an overturning device and method for a marine diesel engine air cylinder cover. The overturning device is cooperated with a single lifting hook to operate; in an air cylinder cover downward-lifting process, the lifting point of the single lifting hook deviates from the center of gravity of the air cylinder cover to form lateral overturning torque; and then, by use of a characteristic that a rotation component can swing on the ground, the air cylinder cover realizes lateral turning and overturning in virtue of the rotation of the rotation component. The overturning device comprises the rotation component and skids, wherein the rotation component is provided with a bottom part of a curved surface shape and comprises three ribbed plates, a bottom plate, two vertical frames, two supporting idler wheels, an installation shaft, a supporting bottom plate and a supporting baffle plate, wherein the bottom outline of each ribbed plate is of a curve shape, and the three ribbed plates are vertical and are laterally arranged in parallel; the shape of the bottom plate and the bottom outline of each ribbed plate are the same, and the bottom plate and the ribbed plates arewelded and fixed; the two vertical frames are independently laminated to the outer sides of the ribbed plates on two sides, and the lower parts of the two vertical frames are fixed with the ribbed plates; the supporting idler wheels are erected on the upper parts of the two vertical frames through the installation shaft and can rotate; and the rotation component is placed and can swing between left and right on the ground.
