Abstract

The invention relates to a method for correcting sound velocity parameters of a depth sounder by using a hammer ball. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) water depth measurement: after ameasuring point is selected, dropping a hammer ball with a measuring line to the bottom of a river, reading water surface measuring line scales, and adding the diameter of the hammer ball to obtain actually measured water depth; and (2) parameter correction: completely submerging the probe of a depth sounder into the water surface, measuring real-time readings, and debugging the sound velocity parameters of the depth sounder until the value of the point measured by the depth sounder is equal to the actually measured water depth, so that the actual sound velocity is obtained through back-stepping. The method has the advantages that on-site construction conditions are fully utilized, actual sound velocity in water of the depth sounder can be rapidly measured without material investment, construction cost is remarkably reduced, the accuracy of actually measured water depth is guaranteed in the cofferdam, the selected water area has representativeness, water quality and the surface of a riverbed can represent an actual water area to be measured, sound velocity measurement is scientific and effective, the cofferdam is internally provided with the transverse supports and the enclosing purlins, a good experiment platform is provided, and operation is easy.
