Abstract

The invention provides a pomegranate PgWUS gene and application thereof, and relates to the field of gene engineering. The base sequence of the pomegranate PgWUS gene is shown as SEQ ID No.2. On the basis of pomegranate whole genome data, a full-length coding sequence of a plant stem cell determining gene PgWUS is cloned. Expression analysis proves that the PgWUS gene has great influence on the development of complete flowers and incomplete flower organs in the pomegranate flower development process. The PgWUS gene is related to maturation and development of later-stage floral organs of pomegranates, and provides a new way for researching regulatory genes of reproductive development of plants.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of genetic engineering, in particular to a pomegranate PgWUS gene and its application. Background technique [0002] In the process of plant growth and development, the shoot apical meristem differentiates into leaves, stems, etc., and begins to reproduce and grow into flower organs at a certain period. This biological process is of great significance to plants. [0003] WUS gene encodes a class of transcription factors, is a member of WUSCHEL-related homeobox (WOX) family, mainly expressed in shoot apical meristem and floral meristem, and is considered to be a gene that determines the fate of stem cells. In the shoot apical meristem, WUS and CLAVATA3 (CLV3) form a negative feedback regulatory loop, which is involved in regulating the development of shoot apical meristem stem cells and maintaining the dynamic balance between differentiation and dedifferentiation of apical meristem stem cells. [0004] WUS (WUSCHEL) g...
