Abstract

The invention provides a leakage detection device and a leakage detection method, and is used for performing leakage detection on a heat exchange core. The leakage detection device comprises a gas releaser, a gas sensor and a controller. The gas releaser and the gas sensor are both in communication connection with the controller. The gas releaser is used for providing tracer gas for the first flow channel of the heat exchange core. The gas sensor is used for detecting the tracer gas concentration of the second flow channel of the heat exchange core and feeding back the tracer gas concentration to the controller. The controller is used for comparing the tracer gas concentration detected by the gas sensor with a concentration threshold value, and if the tracer gas concentration is larger than the concentration threshold value, the controller determines that leakage points exist in the heat exchange core.
