Abstract

The invention discloses a hybrid depth estimation system, comprising: a switchable projector which projects a spot light ray or a surface light ray to an object; a sensor which is used for receiving a reflected spot light ray or a reflected surface light ray from an object and respectively capturing a first image or a second image; a point flight time depth generator which generates a point depth map and a related point credibility map according to the first image; a surface flight time depth generator which generates a surface depth map according to the second image; and a de-noising processor which processes the surface depth map according to a plurality of points having high reliability in the point depth map, thereby generating a de-noised depth map.
