Abstract

An electromechanical protective switching device (1) provided by the invention is provided with a current path extending an input terminal (7) and an output terminal (8). The current path is provided with a switch contact (5) composed of a fixed contact element and a movable contact element and a switch mechanism (4) used for engaging and disengaging the switch contact (5). Besides, the protective switching device is provided with an overload trigger device equipped with a double metal thermal-coupling element (11). The double metal thermal-coupling element can be heated by current flowing through the current path directly or indirectly and bends when the current is greater than rated current. The double metal thermal-coupling element (11) is composed of at least one first board strip (12) and a second board strip (13) fixedly connected with each other.
