Abstract

The invention provides an outdoor unit and a heat pump system. The outdoor unit comprises a compressor, a mode switching valve assembly, an outdoor heat exchanger, a first pipeline port, a second pipeline port, a first branch, a second branch and a third branch; the compressor, the mode switching valve assembly and the outdoor heat exchanger are connected through pipelines, and the first pipeline port and the second pipeline port are in butt joint with an indoor unit; the first branch is connected with the mode switching valve assembly and the first pipeline port, and the outdoor heat exchanger and a first switch valve assembly located on the refrigerant inlet side are arranged on the first branch; the second branch is connected with the mode switching valve assembly and the first pipeline port, provided with a second switch valve assembly and connected with the outdoor heat exchanger in parallel; and the third branch is connected with the second pipeline port and a refrigerant inlet of the outdoor heat exchanger, wherein the first switch valve assembly and the second switch valve assembly are configured to control connection and disconnection of the first branch and the second branch when the mode switching valve assembly randomly switches the flow direction of a refrigerant, so that the refrigerant sequentially flows through the refrigerant inlet and a refrigerant outlet of the outdoor heat exchanger.
