The invention provides a design method for transmission chain support of a tandem double-wind-wheel wind turbine generator which comprises the following steps: transmission chain support model selection; determining main shaft diameters of front and rear transmission chains; calculating main shaft diameters of front and back transmission chains by a direct method; solving a main shaft span when the main shaft of the front transmission chain has the minimum deflection and a main shaft length permissible range of the rear transmission chain by an iterative method; calculating a main shaft span of a rear transmission chain by using the resultant moment in the gravity center direction as zero; and determining a support form according to a transmission chain total length constraint condition. By transmission chain support type selection, main shaft diameter determination, main shaft span when a front transmission chain main shaft has the minimum deflection and a rear transmission chain main shaft length permissible range, then the rear transmission chain main shaft span is calculated, and a support form is determined according to a transmission chain total length constraint condition; and the supporting form of the transmission chain of the horizontal shaft type double-wind-wheel wind generating set can be rapidly and effectively designed.
