Problems solved by technology

Although the measurement error caused by this is small and the measurement accuracy is high enough for most applications, it may be necessary to use such a sensor for measurements in which, for example, a higher measurement accuracy is required in connection with airbags and such a high The measurement accuracy is not achieved in the case of carbon fiber or polymer fiber as the conductive connection between the connecting wire and the contact point of the analytical calculation circuit
Furthermore, the use of highly conductive wires as fibers in rows and columns is prohibited for the reason that such wires are liable to break or possibly crack when the sensor is deformed and are therefore prone to failure and are also prone to oxidation, wherein at the contact points Oxidation on the

[0050] Fig. 1 schematically shows a top view of the sensor bars 1, 2 arranged in a cross. Here, the first group of first sensor bars 1 extending parallel to each other and spaced apart from each other and the second group of first sensor bars 2 extending parallel to each other and spaced apart from each other are arranged crosswise. The two sets of sensor bars 1, 2 are arranged in a 90-degree staggered arrangement. Through the spacing between the parallel sensor bars 1 and 2 of the two groups, a gap 4 is formed in the area adjacent to these intersections. In this way, rows of gaps extending in parallel and spaced apart from each other appear. For the sake of clarity, the sewing thread used to fix the positions of the sensor bars 1 and 2 is omitted in FIG. 1, wherein these gaps 4 constitute through holes for the sewing thread.

[0051] A schematic cross-sectional view along the line A-A of FIG. 1 is shown in FIG. 2. The cross-arranged sensor strips 1 and 2 are covered by the airbag...

Abstract

An airbag device for a vehicle includes an airbag and a sensor element located on the side of the airbag which moves towards the vehicle occupant. The sensor element is formed of sensor strips which transmit sensed pressure changes in the form of a sensor signal to a control device. The amount of gas supplied by a filling device can be controlled in response to the sensor signal. The sensor element has resistor elements forming a matrix-type grid of spaced apart contact regions of the resistor elements. An electric resistance in a contact region of two resistor elements is dependent on the force or pressure load of the contact region. A voltage can be applied to least one of the resistor elements at least in one of the contact regions via an electrically conductive element which is in electrical contact with a resistor element at the contact region.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an airbag device of a vehicle, and particularly an automobile. Background technique [0002] The requirements for airbag devices for vehicles are becoming higher and higher. Simple airbag inflation or airbag deployment no longer meets people's needs. Therefore, especially for the improperly seated state of the so-called abnormal passenger sitting posture, people hope that the airbag at that time will not be inflated with full force, but will be inflated with a reduced gas volume. [0003] For this reason, it is known that a control mechanism is provided on the airbag device, and the controllable inflation of the airbag can be completed by the control mechanism. Such an airbag device is disclosed, for example, by EP0812741, in which a wire or a belt is provided, which is fixed to the front part of the airbag facing the passenger. When the airbag is inflated, this line or belt advances with the airbag being deployed, so the fo...
