[0121] Now, the working procedure of the client computer 101 in the first embodiment will be described.

[0122] FIG. 8 is a flow chart explaining a first embodiment of the operation of the client shown in FIG. 2. FIG.

[0123] In addition to the initialization processing of the device, when an interrupt request from the modem control device 306 is input at step S601, the operation process of the client starts. The modem control means 306 must be initialized in advance so that an interrupt request can be input to the information processing means 301 when the modem control means 306 ends the telephone call from the server side modem 104 .

[0124] The information processing unit 301 has known the end of the server-side telephone call from the interruption of the modem control unit 306, and instructs the modem control unit 306 to perform an off-hook operation in step S602. Next, the server-side modem 104 and the client-side modem 103 that make the telephone call are connected t...

[0178] Fig. 15 is a flow chart explaining the operation of the client shown in Fig. 2 in the second embodiment.

[0179] The second embodiment is a simplified modification of the first embodiment and does not use an access request identifier when making an access request. Step S603 to step S605 included in the operation (FIG. 8) in the first embodiment are omitted here.

[0180] In the second embodiment, the "Access Request Identifier" is not transmitted, instead, if the telephone call at the modem 103 on the client side stops (once the call stops), it can be determined that this is not a failed stop call from the particular server 102 . Thus, if the telephone call of the client 101 stops at step S1201, the client 101 instructs the modem 103 to go on-hook in the same way as in the first embodiment, and then instructs the modem 103 to go off-hook immediately at step S1203.

[0181] The process followed by waiting for line disconnection in step S1204 in the second embodiment i...

[0190] Fig. 17 is a flow chart explaining the operation of the client shown in Fig. 2 in the third embodiment.

[0191] The third embodiment is a modification to the first embodiment, adding additional functions. Specifically, where communication of "identifier confirming receipt of response to access request" is performed, communication of "attribute information for data communication" is performed, and before client 101 dials up connection, reference data communication attribute is added. Operates to determine whether the client 101 is to respond to the access request from the server 102. The idea can be realized here that at the location of the client 101, the user refers to the attribute information of the data communication to determine whether it will respond to an access request from the server 102, and receives an instruction for dial-up connection from the user through the input device 302.

[0192] In FIG. 17, after the client 101 transmits the identifier in respons...

Abstract

The invention solves a problem of the prior art that, when a client accesses a server, data transmission request initiated by the server cannot be started at an arbitrary timing by the server. An accessing system for a network of the present invention is characterized in the following construction. A server has a table in which clients and telephone numbers are stored in a paired relationship in advance, and the server refers to the table to originate a telephone call to an object client. At the point of time when a modem line is connected, the server sends an identifier indicating a request to the client to access the sever from the client. After reception of the request is confirmed, the client disconnects the modem line temporarily, and then originates a telephone call to the server to access the server.

Description

[0001] The patent application for the present invention is a divisional application of the patent application for invention with the application number 98123587.5 and the title of the invention "Network Access System" submitted on December 4, 1998. technical field [0002] The present invention is related to a network access system. The network includes multiple information terminal devices (clients) and a central device (server). The server stores remote emails or other electronic information of the client, and performs information retrieval for the client. COMPUTING AND PROCESSING More specifically, the present invention relates to a network access system for requesting server information access, e-mail access and computing through a connection of a radio device such as a land mobile radiotelephone. [0003] Here, the present invention is not related to an access system such as a leased data communication path used by a general LAN (Local Area Network), but to a data communic...
