A device that supports a breast pump in a “hands-free” manner is disclosed. The device includes a cover with an opening and strap that connects the cover to an article of clothing such as a nursing bra. When connected, the device securely orients a breast shield of a breast pump over the breast of a user.

This invention relates generally to a bra or tank that has three layers on the chest that allow the wearer to comfortably breast feed or pump milk hands-free. A breast milk collection apparatus includes a milk collection bottle, a breast shield, and a suction transfer assembly for mounting on the bottle. The suction transfer assembly includes a housing for connecting to the vacuum pump and the breast shield. A breastshield is provided that may be adhesively secured to a mother's breast for use in a breastpumping system. The adhesive is sufficiently strong so as to independently support the breastshield in position throughout a breast pumping session, including supporting the milk container, thereby enabling the mother to participate in other activities during the pumping session. The connector of the present invention provides fewer connections and attachments to a breastpump configured for expressing breast milk from both of a woman's breasts simultaneously, thereby facilitating easier use of the breast pump and yielding fewer pieces for the user to carry or misplace. Garments for a nursing woman, which garments may be configured to enable hands-free breast pumping using a breast pump, include a brassiere portion with a plurality of at least partially overlapping material layers, which may be defined, in whole or in part, by edges that are at least substantially straight. The pump (9) is alternatingly connected to the first and second terminals (23,24) by alternate opening and closing of the suction valve (12) and the venting valve (13).
