Embodiment Construction

[0060] Below according to accompanying drawing and embodiment the present invention will be described in further detail:

[0061] Such as Figure 4 As shown, the host in the private network is connected with the public network (IPv4 network) through the NAT device (a proxy server can be used), and the IPv4 network and the IPv6 network are connected through a border router (TR). The present invention increases the tunnel in the NAT device The relay function enables the encapsulated packets in the private network to be forwarded to the end router of the tunnel, that is, the border router, on the public network IPv4 after being relayed by the NAT device. If the tunnel from the NAT device to the border router is already available, two automatic tunnels are established between the client host, the NAT device, and the border router to realize IPv6over IPv4 tunnel penetration through the NAT device. The tunnel between the client host and the NAT device is Private network tunnel, the...

Abstract

Public network IPv4 address of NAT device and private IPv4 address of host at client end under NAT device are packed at low 64 bits of IPv6 address. Further, using prefix published by borderline router constructs IPv6 address, which is assigned to the said host at client end. When host at client end sends message to IPv6 network or receives message from IPv6 network, NAT device and borderline router carry out second time of tunnel pack and de-pack so as to form tunnel relay. Thus, message of overcrossing NAT device can be transferred between private network and IPv6 network. Ensuring that the tunnel crosses over NAT device, the invention simplifies network structure, lowers deployment difficulty and raises communication efficiency.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of communication, in particular to a method for performing tunnel relay during the transition from an Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) network performing Network Address Translation (NAT) to an Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) network. Background technique [0002] The deployment of IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) is a process of gradual expansion. Nodes in the original IPv4 (Internet Protocol Version 4) network need to connect to the IPv6 network through tunnel technology to access the services provided by IPv6. Since NAT (Network Address Translation) technology is widely used in IPv4 networks, it is an important subject how to enable hosts attached to NAT devices to access IPv6 networks through tunnels. Among the transition technologies for dual-stack nodes in an IPv4 network to access an IPv6 network through an IPv4NAT network, there is currently only Teredo (Tunneling IPv6 over UDP through NATs, t...
