Problems solved by technology

[0003] The MPEG organization is soliciting multi-view video coding schemes as a reference for the evaluation of multi-view video coding performance. The Simulcast video coding structure is based on the H.264 / AVC video coding standard to realize the multi-view video coding framework [ISO / IEC JTC1 / SC29 / WG11.Call for Evidence on Multi-ViewVideo Coding[C].DOC.N6720, Palma de Mallorca, Spain, 2004.], same as ordinary single-channel video, this scheme encodes each viewpoint video independently, and each GOP Intra-frame encoding (I-Picture) is used for the first frame of each viewpoint, and the other frames refer to the previous frame on the time axis for predictive encoding (P-Picture). This scheme is a simple extension of ordinary single-channel video encoding, so the encoding efficiency and real-time interactive capabilities cannot meet the requirements of multi-viewpoint video communication systems
In recent years, many documents about free viewpoint video have been submitted to the MPEG organization [ISO / IEC JTC1 / SC29 / WG11.Survey of Algorithms used for Multi-view Video Coding (MVC)[C].DOC.N6909, Hong Kong, China, 2005.], but these encoding schemes are still not perfect. Although the encoding efficiency has been significantly improved compared with Simulcast, the ability to freely switch between viewpoints is weak and cannot fully meet the requirements of real-time interaction. Therefore, it is necessary to explore new multi-viewpoint video encoding schemes Has promoted the application of multi-viewpoint video system

Embodiment Construction

[0037] According to the requirement of real-time interactive performance of multi-viewpoint video coding and the principle of distributed source coding, the present invention proposes a new multi-viewpoint video coding method. This method uses distributed source coding at the switching point when encoding each viewpoint video, while other frame encoding methods are the same as the frame encoding methods in the H.264 standard, and the codec principle of the SW frame Structural block diagram as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2, wherein SW represents the video image to be encoded, B 1 is the motion vector coded bitstream, B 21 and B 22 is the check bit stream output by the channel encoder, where the channel encoder is code rate compatible, that is, the check information output by the channel encoder is scalable in code rate, B 3 is an inter-view displacement coded bitstream.

[0038] The multi-viewpoint video coding method that the present invention proposes, comprises the follo...

Abstract

Characters of the invention are that video sequence codes of each viewpoint are divided into I frame, P frame and SW frame. In each image set, first frame is I frame, and then multiple P frames and SW frames. H.264 standard is adopted to encode and decode I frame, and P frames, and SW frames are as viewpoint switch frames. When encoding SW frames, the invention carries out motion estimation and entropy coding for SW frame and previous frame in sequence so as to obtain bit stream of motion vectors. Carrying out displacement estimation and entropy coding for SW frame and video frame at same position of adjacent viewpoint, the invention obtains bit stream of displacement vectors between viewpoints. After carrying out transforms, quantification, dividing into bit planes, and channel encoding, the invention obtains bit stream of verification information. At decoding end, SW frames are rebuilt by the invention.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of computer multimedia, in particular to multi-viewpoint video coding design technology. Background technique [0002] With the rapid development of network technology, communication technology and signal processing technology, people put forward higher requirements for the acquired multimedia data, and multimedia applications are also developing in the direction of networking, interaction and realism. Multi-viewpoint video (Multi-viewpoint video) View Video) is a new type of video with three-dimensional sense and interactive operation function proposed under this background. It enables users to freely choose the viewing angle of the video through the video data of multiple viewpoints, and provides the interactive ability of scene roaming. The multi-viewpoint video signal is a video signal obtained by a group of parallel, convergent or arbitrary-angle camera arrays, which can provide video information from d...
