Embodiment Construction

[0022] In FIG. 1, a positive yarn feeder AP pulls yarn F from a spool RO and feeds the yarn at a regulated speed and regulated tension to a machine MF, such as a loom, knitting machine, Line machine and so on. The yarn F drawn from the bobbin RO is wound into a plurality of coils on a winding reel R keyed to the drive shaft of the motor M, then the yarn F passes through a tension sensor ST and is finally fed to machine MF.

[0023] The motor M is a permanent magnet, synchronous brushless motor with sinusoidal back EMF, which is driven by a functional unit PS via a three-phase switched bridge SP provided with electronic switching. The three-phase switching bridge SP is driven by a group of three, preferably sinusoidal modulated digital signals PWM1, PWM2, PWM3 (Fig. 2), and these modulated digital signals PWM1, PWM2, PWM3 are controlled by a microcontroller or digital Signal processor DSP to generate. The microcontroller DSP is incorporated into a control unit CU which recei...

Abstract

A synchronous motor (M) has a rotor to which a yarn-winding reel (R) is connected. A plurality of position sensors (HS1, HS2, HS3) detect the passing of the rotor at predetermined angular positions and generate corresponding position pulses (P1, P2, P3). A control unit (CU) assigns a measured angular position ( H ) to each combination of the position pulses (P1, P2, P3), calculates the angular positions of the motor in the intervals between the measured angular positions ( H ) by interpolation, and drives the motor by feedback with pilot position values ( ) deriving from the measured angular positions ( H ) and the calculated angular positions ( S ). The control unit (CU) comprises a decision block (DEC) which makes the difference between the measured angular positions ( H ) and the calculated angular positions ( S ), and compares the absolute value of the difference with a predetermined treshold value, whereby, if the absolute value of the difference is below the treshold value, then the decision block selects the calculated position signal ( S ) as pilot position signal ( ), otherwise it selects the measured position signal ( H ).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a positive yarn feeding machine for a loom or the like having a synchronous motor controlled by voltage or speed, and more particularly to a feedback control unit for said yarn feeding machine. Background technique [0002] As is well known, yarn feeding machines of the type described above generally draw yarn from a spool and feed the yarn at a regulated speed and tension to a machine arranged downstream, such as a loom, weaving machine, winder or the like. The feeder comprises a motor, such as a stepper motor, or more advantageously a brushless motor, which drives a yarn feed reel on which a plurality of yarn coils is wound. A speed sensor and / or position sensor is coupled to the motor, allowing the motor speed to be controlled through a feedback loop. In particular, the motor is driven by an electric power supply unit comprising an electronically switched bridge controlled by a control unit which processes various s...
