Abstract

A hardenability test method for high strength deformable aluminum alloy slab comprises the following steps: (1) making aluminum alloy ingots into a slab through hot rolling during the process of manufacturing the high strength deformable aluminum alloy slab with the thickness of the slab being not less than 50mm; (2) taking a sample from the aluminum alloy slab for carrying out solution heat treatment, and then carrying out end quenching; (3) measuring hardness values at different layers of the quenched end face from the quenched end face along the thickness direction with the thickness of each layer being 5-10mm, drafting a curve of the hardness values, and observing the microscopic structure features of each layer of hardness measurement; (4) according to the test results in the step (3), determining the solution heat treatment regime during the manufacture process of the aluminum alloy slab after hot rolling, and updating the heat treatment technique.
