The PET polymer used was Valox PET 962 resin from GE. The polyetherimide was Ultem PEI 1010 resin available from GE. The polycarbonate used was also Lexan PC 105 or PC 175 resin from GE. PTFE lubricant was from DuPont.

[0063] Example A : A composition comprising 10 wt% of microcapsules in PET and PEEK as polymer matrix materials was prepared using the method of the prior art, ie, direct melt blending of microcapsules in the composition. Oil capsules were visually observed in the compounded PET pellets, some of which appeared to be elongated (degraded) by the compounding process. Additionally, capsules were seen in the PEEK molded samples.

Add PEI at the throat feeder. The process stalls when the microcapsules degrade, producing formaldehyde beyond unacceptable levels for operators staying indoors.
