Abstract

The present invention provides a method of regenerating a carbon dioxide absorbent which absorbs carbon dioxide emitted from various anthropogenic sources including fossil fuel combustion processes, industrial production processes, and natural gas processing. In the method, the absorbent is preheated using heat generated in a process of compressing the separated carbon dioxide in a compressor and the preheated absorbent is delivered to an absorbent flow control tank, before the used absorbent is delivered to a regeneration tower, thereby improving energy efficiency.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority under 35 U.S.C §119(a) of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2008-0054098 filed on June 10, 2008, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The present application relates to methods of regenerating carbon dioxide absorbents. Background technique [0004] Known carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) contribute to global warming, there have been numerous approaches to reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emitted from various anthropogenic sources, including fossil fuel combustion processes, industrial processes, and natural gas processing. [0005] reduce CO 2 Emissions approaches are broadly divided into reducing energy consumption, capturing and storing CO 2 , and the use of alternative energy. Among them, CO 2 The capture and storage method has been widely studied because it has less impact on industrial activities and the CO2 captured by this met...
