Abstract

The invention relates to a general network structure, in particular to an interaction system of RS-232 and RS-422 / RS-485 for industrial control and a universal network adapter. The universal network adapter has two interfaces: a first bus interface and a second bus interface. The first bus interface is used for monitoring data flows, containing address information, broadcasted by a host computer;the second bus interface is responsible for data exchange between a main application of the host computer and a remote station; the opening of the second bus interface is controlled by the network adapter according to the address information received by the first bus interface; and a singlechip completes the data reception and transmission of the first bus interface and the control of the second bus interface. The universal network adaptor can uniformly convert the communication interfaces of the same protocol or different protocols of the equipment of the same kind or different kinds from thesame manufacturer or different manufacturers into RS-422 / RS-485 and assigns address to form a star, ring, bus or hybrid industrial control network while greatly increasing communication distance andfacilitating centralized monitoring and management.
