Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a system for transmitting descending control information. The system comprises a base station and user equipment. The method comprises the following steps of: firstly, setting a transmission mode X and transmitting the descending control information to the user equipment by the base station according to the transmission mode X; and receiving the descending control information by the user equipment and obtaining the descending control information according to a corresponding descending control information format in the transmission mode X. The transmission mode X comprises one or the combination of a descending control information format 1A, a first descending control information format and a second descending control information format. The transmission mode X also adds and defines six antenna ports A-F. By applying the invention, a space multiplexing technique which has eight layers and is based on a DMRS can be at most supported in the edition R10 of LTE-Advanced; and meanwhile, under the condition of ensuring compatibility, the corresponding descending transmission modes are represented by utilizing the first descending control information format and the second descending control information format, the high-order MIMO transmission is realized, and the performance of the system is enhanced.
