AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

This patented technology uses pine nuts instead of expensive materials like charcoal or bone powder used traditionally in making porous carbons. It produces highly pure products with low density without harming our natural resources.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical solution described involves producing activated carbons from various sources such as wood or coal products without excessive waste material. However, current methods have limitations: they require expensive equipment (pumping) and are limited in their ability to create pores structures within certain sizes.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for preparing gas phase absorption activated carbon from pine nut shells, and relates to the technical field of preparation of activated carbon. The method of the invention comprises the following steps: (1) selecting; (2) breaking; (3) distilling; (4) drying; (5) soaking raw materials; (6) charring and activating; (7) recovering phosphoric acid; (8) removing metal ions; and (9) drying and breaking. Because the pine nut shells are a good raw material for preparing the gas phase absorption activated carbon and have not only hard texture but also moderate specific gravity, the method of the invention overcomes the defects of a traditional method, can produce the high-quality qualified activated carbon for gas phase absorption, can not pollute the environment, simultaneously can obtain a by-product pine oil, and is a new production process which economic, green and environment-friendly.
