Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and a device for generating control data for controlling a prescribed cutter arranged on a machine tool to process a fixed workpiece to a finished product from a blank. In order to determine different configuration of a processing configuration and a finished configuration, the processing configuration model data and finished configuration model data of the workpiece are compared at a certain processing time. A processing path for removing material from the workpiece by the prescribed cutter is determined based on the determined different configuration, and path data is generated according to maximum processing quantity of the prescribed cutter to make the different configuration removed in a unit interval to be maximum.
