Abstract

The invention discloses a method and system for performance monitoring and failure handling of a WLAN (wireless local area network). In the method and system provided by the invention, a client terminal and a service terminal are utilized. The method comprises the following steps: monitoring (the client terminal) by the WLAN to acquire the signal intensity, signal frequency point, SSID of AP and encryption condition, and other information of the WLAN; reporting the monitoring data to a server terminal through an established mobile communication network (2G network or 3G network) when the client terminal monitors the interruption (abnormity); and carrying out a PING operation on a network element and a relevant network entity device according to the reported information after the server terminal receives the information, and furthermore monitoring the faults. The purposes of anomalous event analyzing and fault point positioning are achieved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of wireless communication computer network, in particular to the monitoring and fault location processing of wireless network connection within the coverage range of WLAN wireless network. Background technique [0002] In the 3G era, WLAN networks will be the main carrier of high-speed mobile data services. With the increase of voice and data fusion terminals and the number of users, WLAN high-speed data services will become an important aspect for major operators to compete for individual users. In this sense, operators should regard WLAN networks as strategic resources and provide high-level operation and maintenance services. [0003] However, due to the large number of wireless access points ((Wireless) Access Points, APs), if only relying on on-site testing and analysis for failures that occur during user use, more service resources will be consumed. Since fault detection and maintenance services bring great in...
