Abstract

The invention provides a data packet header processing method and a device for a sensor network. The sensor network is connected with an IP (Internet Protocol) network through a network gateway; after receiving a data packet from the IP network, the network gateway replaces an IP source address and a destination address in the packet header with a link local area address applicable to the sensor network; and then, local address encapsulation and transmission applicable to the sensor network is carried out. The network gateway can use the reserved link local area address to replace the IP source address, and establishes a mapping relationship between a UDP (User Datagram Protocol) interface on a sensor network side and the IP source address, so that the recovery of the packet header is further realized. According to the technical scheme of the invention, the transmission cost of the data packet in the sensor network when data communication is carried out between sensor nodes in the sensor network and long-range sites can be effectively reduced, and thus the related resources is further saved.
