Abstract

Provided in examples of the present invention is a method for making a meta-material, comprising: casting a polymer material in liquid state into a pre-set mould, to shape a sheet-like film; imprinting the film using a pre-set imprinting template before curing the film, to form an upper surface and a lower surface of the film into an array of semicircular grooves respectively; filling the grooves in the upper surface of the film with microspheres having the desired electromagnetic properties, the diameter of the microspheres being identical to that of the grooves into which they are filled; and laminating the films filled with the microspheres into one piece, such that the microspheres filled in the grooves in the upper surface of one film are imbedded into the grooves in the lower surface of another film. Also provided in another example of the present invention is a meta-material. By means of the examples of the present invention, a fully dielectric meta-material having the desired electromagnetic properties can be obtained through a simple and accurate method of preparation.
