Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides an ethernet data processing method and system and an optical transport network processing chip. The ethernet data processing method comprises the following steps: receiving ethernet data through an Interlaken interface, and writing the ethernet data in a message buffer; receiving the request of a GFP (generic framing procedure) module for reading the message buffer by a bandwidth speed limiting module, and judging whether the bandwidth for reading the message buffer by the GFP module is more than the line-speed bandwidth of a GE/10GE interface or not; if the bandwidth for reading the message buffer by the GFP module is more than the line-speed bandwidth of the GE/10GE (gigabit ethernet/10 gigabit ethernet) interface, inhibiting the GFP module from reading the message buffer until the bandwidth for reading the message buffer by the GFP module is less than or equal to the line-speed bandwidth of the GE/10GE interface; and if the bandwidth for reading the message buffer by the GFP module is not more than the line-speed bandwidth of the GE/10GE interface, allowing the GFP module to read the message buffer. According to the technical scheme of the invention, the grounding bandwidth of the GE/10GE interface can be controlled precisely to be less than or equal to the line-speed bandwidth of the GE/10GE interface so that the GE/10GE interface reaches the line speed and the system performance is improved.
