A dung digging mechanism for a ring chain traction type livestock dung clearing device is provided with a guide rod and a guide sleeve, wherein the guide rod and the guide sleeve are respectively connected with a digging tool and a tool bar, wherein the digging tool vertically moves in a way of attaching to the tool bar and a dung channel; the resistance exists in the advancing process of a tool edge, so that a tool edge adhesive strip is not needed to being fastened by a bolt; the tool bar is joggled with a traction bar by a rabbet, so that the phenomenon that the tool bar is loosened and swings due to the fact that the strength of the tool bar is weakened by a screw hole is avoided; edge cutters are arranged at two ends of the tool bar and are used for digging and cutting dung on the edges of the dung channel; pulley stands are arranged on bottom surfaces at two ends of the tool bar; pulley yokes and pulley blocks are arranged on the pulley stands; and traction pins are arranged at two ends of the traction bar, and each traction pin is connected with a traction ring chain.
