Problems solved by technology

[0002] As a new fibrous material, glass wool has excellent properties such as light weight, heat preservation, fire prevention, sound absorption, moth resistance, and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in chemical industry, metallurgy, light industry, electric power, petroleum and construction industries. A large amount of borax is usually used in the production process of glass wool, resulting in high production costs and limiting the wide application of glass wool

Abstract

The invention relates to a manufacturing method for fireproof glass cotton. The manufacturing method comprises the steps of: (1) selecting 65-75 parts by mass of glass cullet, 6-9 parts by mass of feldspar powder, 4-6 parts by mass of calcium oxide, 15-20 parts by mass of boric ore; (2) mixing raw materials into a mixture; (3) melting the mixture to obtain glass metal; and (4) leading the glass metal into a centrifugal machine for fibration to obtain glass cotton. The method can ensure that the manufactured glass cotton meets the fireproof and flame-retardant requirements through strict control on raw materials. The method is adopted for production, the production cost can be lowered, and the energy resources can be saved.
