Problems solved by technology

The beat signal is obtained by mixing the transmitted signal and the echo signal. However, the attenuation of the signal in the millimeter wave band is very obvious. As the target distance increases, the power of the echo signal will decrease sharply, which limits the linear frequency modulation continuous wave LFMCW millimeter wave Application of Radar in Long-distance Ranging

Abstract

The invention discloses a small-wavelet-packet-based 24GHz LFMCW (Linear Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) radar ranging method which comprises the following steps of: carrying out frequency mixing and filtering on an echo signal and a transmission signal of an LFMCW radar to obtain a beat signal; treating the beat signal by utilizing a decomposition algorithm and a single-node reconstruction algorithm of a small wavelet packet to obtain a sing-node reconstructed signal; and carrying out fast Fourier transform on the reconstructed signal of the small wavelet packet to obtain frequency spectrum information of the signal; and finding a frequency corresponding to the maximum amplitude of a frequency spectrum and substituting the frequency into a distance formula to compute a target distance. The ranging method provided by the invention is capable of extracting long-distance target information under low signal to noise ratio so as to enlarge the effective action distance of the radar.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a 24GHz LFMCW radar ranging method based on wavelet packets, which is a core technology for vehicle ranging and speed measurement, evaluation of multilayer dielectric structures, measurement of altitude and speed of flying objects on the earth's surface, and helicopter classification. It can be widely used in various military and civilian systems. Background technique [0002] Compared with infrared sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and image processing sensor equipment, millimeter wave radar has the advantages of being less affected by the environment, high precision, and high resolution. Millimeter-wave radar systems based on frequency modulation continue wave (LFMCW) technology are widely used in both civilian and military applications. Therefore, how to further improve the ranging accuracy of linear frequency modulation continuous wave LFMCW millimeter-wave radar and increase the effective range of radar is still a hot topic. ...
