[0035] In the attached picture ( Figure 5 ) shows a fuel tank 1 of thermoplastic material in a highly schematically enlarged form. It comprises an inner layer 2 of thermoplastic material and an outer layer 3 of fiber composite material. The outer layer 3 comprises continuous fibers, such as glass fibers or carbon fibers, in a matrix of thermosetting temperature-curable material. It (room temperature curing material) can be, for example, an epoxy resin with a room temperature activatable hardener. The outer layer 3 completely covers the fuel tank and is bonded to the inner layer-forming material over all surface areas. The inner layer 2 is a four-layer coextrusion based on HDPE, comprising an inner HDPE layer 4, a first adhesive layer 5 based on LDPE, an EVOH barrier layer 6 and a second outer adhesive layer 7, the second outer adhesive layer The agent layer 7 forms a material bond with the fiber composite outer layer 3 .
