Abstract

A backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display thereof. The backlight assembly comprises a light source (100), a conductive copper layer (200), a dielectric layer (300), a metal core printed circuit board (400) and a heat sink (500); the dielectric layer (300) is attached to and covers a side surface of the metal core printed circuit board (400); the conductive copper layer (200) is arranged on the dielectric layer (300); the light source (100) and the heat sink (500) are respectively connected to the conductive copper layer (200); the light source (100) conducts via the conductive copper layer (200) and transfers heat to the heat sink (500) via the conductive copper layer (200); and the heat sink (500) is used for cooling the backlight assembly. The backlight assembly connects the heat sink (500) with the light source (100) via the conductive copper layer (200), which shortens a cooling path of the light source (100) and improves the cooling efficiency. In addition, a bended metal core printed circuit board is applied, and therefore a heat sink can be directly welded for cooling on the premise of ensuring a narrow side design requirement of a display.
