The method includes the first step of transmitting sampling signals every a first preset sampling period, the second step of calculating the amplitudes of sampled signals, corresponding to the sampling signals, in a piezoelectric electret thin-film piezoelectric sensor, judging whether the amplitudes of the sampled signals are larger than a first preset value, and if yes, transmitting the sampling signals every a second preset sampling period, and the third step of calculating the amplitudes of two piezoelectric signals corresponding to two sampling signals at adjacent sampling instants, judging whether the difference between the amplitudes of the two piezoelectric signals is smaller than a preset difference value, and if yes, transmitting the sampling signals according to a preset time range and a third preset sampling period, calculating the peak value of a current piezoelectric signal according to the sampling signals within the preset time range and outputting the peak value. The invention further provides a piezoelectric signal peak detection device. By the adoption of the piezoelectric signal peak detection method and device, the situation that measurement of the peak value has a large error due to misjudgement of the peak value of the current piezoelectric signal is avoided, and simple and accurate detection of the peak value is achieved.
