Embodiment Construction

[0015] Certain terms are used throughout the specification and claims to refer to particular components. Those skilled in the art should understand that hardware manufacturers may use different terms to refer to the same component. The specification and claims do not use the difference in name as a way to distinguish components, but use the difference in function of components as a criterion for distinguishing. The "comprising" mentioned throughout the specification and claims is an open-ended term, so it should be interpreted as "including but not limited to". In addition, the term "coupled" herein includes any direct and indirect means of electrical connection. Therefore, if it is described in the text that the first device is coupled to the second device, it means that the first device may be directly electrically connected to the second device, or indirectly electrically connected to the second device through other devices or connection means.

Abstract

A method for performing adaptive equalization includes: dynamically detecting current levels of a plurality of sets of pattern levels respectively corresponding to a plurality of data patterns, wherein each set of the sets of pattern levels includes a previous level, a current level, and a next level respectively corresponding to one of the plurality of data patterns; and dynamically calculating a plurality of data decision levels according to the current levels of the sets of pattern levels, for use of data decision, wherein each data decision level of at least one portion of the plurality of data decision levels is not equal to zero, and the data decision levels are dynamically adjusted in accordance with the current levels of the sets of pattern levels, in order to enhance a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). An associated method for performing adaptive equalization is also provided. Associated apparatus are also provided.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to adaptive control in a device with an equalization mechanism, in particular to a method and a related device for performing adaptive equalization. Background technique [0002] The High-Definition Multimedia Interface (hereinafter referred to as "HDMI") standard, especially the HDMI1.3 standard, specifies the operating frequency range of video serial links (Serial Link) involving various multimedia data formats The minimum can be 250Mb / s (Megabits per Second; that is, megabits / second), and the highest can be 3.4Gb / s (Gigabits per Second; that is, gigabits / second). The new HDMI standard, widely adopted by consumers, requires receivers to reliably reproduce the incoming data stream regardless of conditions such as long / short cables or clear / fuzzy signals. In many cases, when cheap cables are used for cost savings, the input video can be quite blurry and noisy. As a result, certain problems occur, for example, the related...
