Abstract

The invention relates to a strip steel welding seam positioning system and method, belongs to metallurgical automation control, and particularly relates to automation control of a cold rolling processing line. By means of the strip steel welding seam positioning system, welding seams of previous strip steel and next strip steel are moved to width notcher center line from a welding machine center line. A control system comprises a processer, a tightening roller, an unwinding machine and a loop generating device. The tightening roller and the unwinding machine are used for winding the two ends of the welded strip steel. The processor controls the tightening roller and the unwinding machine to rotate so as to change the positions of the welding seams. The loop generating device is used for generating loops and sending the loop size to the processor. According to the strip steel welding seam positioning system and method, the tensile length of the loops and the distance between the welding machine and a width notcher are accurately measured, and the welding seams are accurately positioned to the position of the width notcher.
