The active power flexible control method comprises the following steps of: sampling the voltage of a current collection bus of the new energy power station and the current of each feeding line by an active power flexible control device, and calculating active power of power generation of each feeding line; acquiring and calculating total active power of power generation of the new energy power station and acquiring a switch position of each feeding line; receiving a planning active power value of power generation of the power station from a dispatching master station and forwarding to an automatic gain control (AGC) system in the station; and adjusting the total active power of the power generation by the AGC system within a set delay time if the total active power of the power generation of the current power station exceeds a pre-set protective constant value, and selectively cutting a part of feeding lines and reducing the total active power of the power station to below the active value if the active power of the power generation is not adjusted to be below the planning active value by the AGC system. The invention also provides the active power flexible control device. The active power flexible control method is rapid and reliable, the output active power cut by the power station is reduced as much as possible, clean energy is utilized to the maximum, and electric energy production is increased.
