A source address and destination address combined searching method based on a composite trie tree structure can support accurate searching for a source address and a destination address and achieve correct searching and forwarding of a multicast message. Creation steps of a searching structure are (1) performing preprocessing on a multicast routing table item, (2) establishing a single trie tree by utilizing a multicast source address set, (3) establishing a plurality of trie trees by utilizing a multicast destination address set, and (4) building a composite trie tree structure satisfying source address and destination address combined searching. Searching steps based on the structure are (1) determining an initial tree node, (2) performing searching by utilizing a source address, and (3) performing searching by utilizing a destination address. The method is advantageous in that the searching steps are simple, the method is easy to implement, and the searching structure depth and storage space consumption are effectively reduced.
