Abstract

The invention provides a color display device and a manufacturing method thereof. The color display device comprises a color filtering base plate, an OLED base plate and quantum dot encapsulation glue, wherein the color filtering base plate and the OLED base plate are oppositely arranged and are adhered together via the quantum dot encapsulation glue. Triggered by blue light emitted out by the OLED base plate, the red light quantum points and green light quantum points in the quantum dot encapsulation glue emit out red light and green light respectively. After the red light and the green light are mixed with ground blue light, write light is formed. After the white light is transformed via a color filtering sheet, red, green and blue light are formed, thereby achieving color display. The light purity of the quantum points is high and colors can be controlled via diameters of the quantum points, thereby increasing color gamut and improving display quality of the color display device. The color display device is simple to manufacture and easy to operate and the manufactured color display device has quite wide gamut and quite high display quality.
