The method comprises the following steps: monitoring a displaying and hiding operation event aiming at the application window; determining the operation type of the operation event, wherein the operation type includes a displaying operation and a hiding operation; if the operation type is the hiding operation, obtaining a window process path of the application window and obtaining an operation process path of initiating the hiding operation; comparing the operation process path with the window process path; if the operation process path is the same as the window process path, permitting to execute the hiding operation; and if the operation process path is different from the window process path, refusing to execute the hiding operation. In addition, the invention further provides a displaying and hiding control device for the application window.
