Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for screening goldfish parents carrying a deleted Tgf2 transposon to reproduce descendants with a high non-defect rate. By the method of the present invention, the copy number and deletion of the Tgf2 transposon of 9 kinds of goldfishes are studied by using Southern blot and reverse PCR, and the study result suggests that under natural conditions, an intact transposon (Intact type) as well as an internal fragment deleted transposon (Del-I / -II / -III types) exists in the Tgf2 transposon of the goldfishes, and the Tgf2 fragment deletion of the goldfishes is correlated with the non-defect rate of the goldfishes.
