The invention discloses feeds specially used for feeding a pink shell layer chicken in a laying period. The basis of preparing the feeds is nutritional parameters of diet of the pink shell layer chicken. The feeds are formed by raw materials such as corns, soybean meals, bran, cottonseed meals, rapeseed meals, fish meals, yeast powders, dicalcium phosphate, stone powders, shell powders, vegetable oil, microelement additive, compound vitamins, choline, salt, methionine, lysine, and the like through series test in an optimizing proportioning way, and are respectively suitable for a pink shell layer chicken of 21 to 40 weeks old (egg laying peak) and a pink shell layer chicken of 41 to 78 weeks old (egg laying middle-late stage) to carry out feeding utilization. The prior feeds which are prepared according to a nutrition standard of a white or brown shell layer chicken are respectively used to feed pink shell layer chickens in the laying period, and are determined through comparison that the egg production of a housed chicken of 78 weeks old is enhanced by 8.3 percent; the feed-egg ratio benefit is enhanced by 9.8 percent, nutritional metabolic diseases are lowered by 53.4 percent; and the chicken mortality is lowered by 3.5 percent, and the net income is increased by 65.4 percent.

Method for enhancing poultry production

A method is provided for raising poultry, such as chickens, for food production. In a first preferred embodiment, the method includes the steps of: providing a facility for housing the poultry, providing at least one light-absorbing ventilation fan associated with the facility for ventilating the facility, exposing an interior of the facility to natural light cycles of an outside environment for a first period and regulating light cycles of the interior for a second period, thereby mimicking daylight duration variation representative of seasonal changes for stimulating sexual development of the poultry. In a second preferred embodiment, the method includes the steps of: providing a facility for housing the poultry, providing at least one light-absorbing ventilation fan associated with the facility for ventilating the facility, limiting exposure of an interior of the facility to light to produce a brown-out effect therein for enhancing physical development of the poultry.
