The molding sand is characterized in that modification treatment is carried out on animal glue through utilizing carbon nano tubes to prepare a novel molding sand adhesive; during the preparation process, the carbon nano tubes are subjected to swelling treatment in an acid ionic liquid, so as to improve the dispersity of the carbon nano tubes in an animal glue solution; finally, cross linking is carried out through glutaraldehyde, and the adhesive which is high in environmental protection property, high in bonding strength, low in coefficient of thermal expansion and high in thermal deformation resistance is obtained; and besides, sodium alginate added during the sand mixing process can have cross linking hybridization reaction with calcium chloride to form high-air permeability micropore channels, so that a molding sand product with good air permeability and molding strength is obtained.
