Abstract

The invention discloses a generator based on an asymmetric dielectric layer and a power generating method. The generator comprises an electrification layer, a first dielectric layer, and a second dielectric layer, a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer. The first electric layer and the second dielectric layer are arranged at the lower surface of the electrification layer in contact; and the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer are arranged at the lower surfaces of the first dielectric layer and the second dielectric layer respectively. When a contactant with the different surface electron gaining-losing capability is in contact with or separated from the electrification layer or slides, different dielectric layers modulate electric fields generated by surface charges of the electrification layer and a potential difference is formed between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer, wherein the potential difference can drive electrons to form currents when an external circuit is connected. When the mechanical energy is converted into the electric energy, power generation can be realized without any relative motion between the two electrode layers, so that packaging of the generator and matched application with other devices can be realized well.
