Problems solved by technology

[0014] The main function of the liquid crystal display is to act as a light switch. After the light passes through the liquid crystal layer, the light loss is only about 6% of the original. Therefore, in order to obtain a brighter display effect, the brightness of the backlight must be increased, which will increase the energy consumption of the backlight. and reduce backlight lifetime

preparation example Construction

[0222] The preparation of liquid crystal composition in the embodiment of the present invention all adopts following method:

[0223] The preparation of uniform liquid crystal adopts the thermal dissolution method commonly used in the industry. First, the liquid crystal compound is weighed by weight percentage with a balance. There is no specific requirement for the order of weighing and adding. Usually, the liquid crystal compound is weighed and mixed in order of melting point from high to low. Heat and stir at 60-100°C to make each component melt evenly, then filter, spin evaporate, and finally package to obtain the target sample.

[0224] Unless otherwise stated, percentages in this context are by weight and all temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Use the following abbreviations:

[0225] Δn is optical anisotropy (25°C), Δε is dielectric anisotropy (25°C, 1000Hz), ε ⊥ is the vertical dielectric (25°C, 1000Hz), Cp is the clearing point of the liquid crystal composit...

Abstract

The invention provides a liquid crystal composition with high transmittance. The liquid crystal composition contains at least one or more of compounds represented by general formula I shown in the description and at least one of compounds represented by formula II shown in the description. The liquid crystal composition has the characteristics of low viscosity, high resistivity, good low temperature intersolubility, fast response speed and excellent transmittance, and can be used in fast response liquid crystal display with multiple display modes. FFS and IPS are most mainstream display modes at present, but the problem of low transmittance of the FFS and the IPS is a key problem to be solved. A result of experiments shows that the liquid crystal composition with large dielectric strength has high transmittance, so the brightness is improved without increasing the electric energy consumption. The liquid crystal composition provided by the invention has large dielectric strength, and effectively improves the transmittance of liquid crystal displays, and especially the displays in the FFS and IPS display modes.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a liquid crystal composition, which belongs to the field of liquid crystal display materials, in particular to a liquid crystal composition with high transmittance and its application. Background technique [0002] At present, liquid crystals are widely used in the field of information display, and at the same time, some progress has been made in the application in optical communication (S.T.Wu, D.K.Yang. Reflective Liquid Crystal Displays. Wiley, 2001). In recent years, the application fields of liquid crystal compounds have been significantly expanded to various display devices, electro-optic devices, electronic components, sensors, etc. For this reason, many different structures have been proposed, especially in the field of nematic liquid crystals, and nematic liquid crystal compounds have been most widely used in flat panel displays so far. Especially for TFT active matrix systems. [0003] Liquid crystal display has exp...
