The tester is composed of a battery PACK plugging member, a switch array, a battery check circuit, a master control chip, and a display device. The input terminal of the master control chip is connected with the output terminal of the battery check circuit through another path of SPI interface; the input terminal of the battery check circuit is connected to the output terminal of the switch array; the input terminal of the master control chip is connected with the output terminal of the switch array by the battery check circuit; and a battery PACK is connected with the input terminal of the switch array by the PACK plugging member. In addition, the invention also discloses a control method of the hand-held power battery PACK tester. Compared with the traditional method for measuring all batteries in the battery pack one by one by using a universal meter manually, the method disclosed by the invention has the following advantages: the checking efficiency, the checking accuracy, and the checking coverage surface of the battery PACK are improved and the labor cost is reduced substantially.
