Problems solved by technology

However, the more a large number of samples are collected, the more large-capacity memory is required to store them, and the load on the hardware increases and the cost also increases.
[0007] Even if a sufficient number of samples are collected with a large-capacity memory, if inappropriate samples are included, the error in finding the predistortion characteristic increases, and the correct predistortion coefficient cannot be obtained
For example, when it is a Time Division Duplex (TDD: TimeDivision Duplex) signal, there is a danger that even samples without a signal are included

Abstract

A sample validity determination method and apparatus for a digital predistortion apparatus are disclosed for determining the vvalidity of utilized samples during estimation of a predistorsion coefficient by the digital predistorsion apparatus used for compensating the non-linearity of a power amplifier. The method includes: a step of obtaining a certain quantity (represented by N, N is a natural number) of input samples from input signals input to the power amplifier; a step ofclassifying the input samples into a plurality of groups according to sizes and determining the validity of the input samples according to the distribution of the classified input samples; and a step of determining the valid input samples as samples to be input to a predistorsion algorithm for estimating the predistorsion coefficient when the input samples are valid. According to the sample validity determination method and apparatus for a digital predistortion apparatus, the non-linearity of a power amplifier is compensated, and the non-linearity of the power amplifier can be efficiently compensated by accurately estimating the predistortion coefficient even with a low-capacity memory.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present invention relate to a device and method capable of judging whether samples stored in a memory are effective samples required for stably estimating digital pre-distortion coefficients in a digital pre-distortion device for compensating nonlinearity of a power amplifier. Background technique [0002] The contents described in this section merely provide background information of the embodiments of the present invention and do not constitute prior art. [0003] In a communication system, a power amplifier is an essential component for transmitting signals. In general, power amplifiers cannot be driven in a saturated region where nonlinear characteristics show a lot in consideration of signal quality and adjacent frequency band interference, and are driven at low power that operates with linear characteristics. However, if the power amplifier is driven with a power lower than the saturation power, there is a problem of low effic...
