The indoor optical positioning system comprises light sources, light polarization and signal modulation devices, light sensing devices and digital demodulators, wherein the light sources are arranged indoors, a light source control device is further arranged, and the quantity of the light sources is set according to indoor space; the light polarization and signal modulation devices adopts an LED internal module, the devices are arranged on the peripheries of the light sources, and light emitted by the light sources is protected towards the exterior after modulation; the light sensing devices are arranged on the peripheries of the light polarization and signal modulation devices, and light intensity after sensing modulation services as signal output; the digital demodulators are connected with the light sensing devices, and are used for receiving signals emitted by the light sensing devices and converting the signals into positional information for output.
